(The Tories’ best standup act…the “witty” William Hague MP)
Its been winding its way along the grapevine for weeks now, but finally rumours of Government ministers attending their coalition partner’s conference have come to a head. The Daily Mail, as reliable a source of political intrigue as ever there was, has exclusively revealed that Old Bill Hague will deliver a “witty” bout of rhetoric to bolster coalition partnership at the Liberal Democrat convention in Liverpool. The Mail even managed to find the very last scrape in the depths of the proverbial barrel with a quote from Chris Huhne calling the lager-loving Foreign Secretary a “skinhead who has toured the beer cellars of Central Europe.” This, of course, has been denied.
While Billy Boy is booking his second class train tickets for LibFest in ‘Pool, Lib Dem young guns Danny Alexander and Sarah Teather are reportedly planning on travelling the other way, stopping over in Birmingham for ToryCon. There are also whisperings circulating that Jeremy Browne MP, will be joining them, perhaps chairing a few fringe events…
